The Vicki Sherpa Eduqual Foundation
is going to create a Shelter in Pakistan

The shelter wills take-in orphaned children
and widow's victims of the October 8 earthquake

As a result of the earthquake of Pakistan, Vicki Sherpa Eduqual Foundation has decided to set up immediately a centre of help for the victims of the catastrophe that shocked the region of the Kashmir and the north of the country. We will focus taking-in especially young girls who have missed hers parents, and widow women which have lost their child.

The Foundation will be responsible of this new project with Horizon, our partnership in Pakistan. Vicki Sherpa, Eduqual's founder, together with a specialized team of teachers and psychologists, will move right away to Pakistan, concretely to Pind Bhagwal. The project has two stages; The first stages it will be establish the shelter as a permanent residence; The second stage it will be the creation of a teachers training for native teachers.

Right now, the situation in the zone is especially tough for many children who have missed theirs parents. The efforts of Pakistan's Government are focus on the children covered in the few hospitals that still standing. For that reason, many of the survivors have few alternatives to survive; searching refuge in madrassas (Koran school) or become beggars.

With the implementation of the project, the residents of the centre will receive, food, lodging, sanitary and psychological attention and quality education. In order to achieve this purpose, we need an initial amount of 9,000 € and about 600 € a month. According to our financial capacity, we will be able to extend the attention to a greater number of affected people.
