All Eduqual projects are free, and are coordinated to form
a model of integral development with the goal of being locally
sustainable, capable of energizing communities, and being repited
in other regions and countries in the future. Education, food,
books, material, medical services and transport are supplied.
The main beneficiaries are orphan boys and girls or children
from families without the basic economic resources. The selection
is based upon an interview with their parents, a visit to their
houses to check the conditions they are living in and from direct
observation.
--------- | DALEKI
SCHOOL
The Daleki School was established in 1993 in order to cover
the educational needs of children from the most marginalized
castes of Kathmandu.
The building is located in Ranibari, Samakhusi within the Kathmandu
urban area. The school began with kindergarten and high school
levels, the "Montessori" class, women workshops, and
adults education. It was the first school in the country to
incorporate handicapped children into the classroom.

--------- | CATALUNYA
SCHOOL
The Catalunya School is located in the environs of the Kathmandu
Valley in the Rural Development Committee of Manamaiju. The
building was constructed thanks to the joint efforts of Arquitectos
Sin Fronteras (Architects Without Borders), the Generalitat
of Catalunya (through the Catalan Funds for Cooperation and
Development) and Eduqual. Parents of Daleki School students
participated actively in the building's construction, both as
volunteers and as workers at a base salary.
In this school primary level is taught, and there is also a
"hostel center" and a class for improving psycomotor
skills.

--------- | SOCIAL
PROJECT
The VEDFON Generation of Income Project, which began in 1998,
is aimed especially at the mothers of children from marginal
communities, and at the minimization of child exploitation,
as well as child labor in rural areas. This is achieved by generating
income that provides direct economic assistance for these families.
This project includes training courses, such as instruction
in weaving, the cutting and fabrication of garments, as well
as a jewelry workshop. A small business where products are sold
has also been established, thus generating benefits that are
devoted once again to the training courses.

--------- | NON-FORMAL
EDUCATION
This project was designed with the illiterate adult population
in mind and so that children from 8 to 15 who work during the
day could attend classes in the afternoon.
Designed to cover the needs of young people outside school,
it consists of complementary and special education, accelerated
so that these youngsters may be incorporated into their corresponding
school levels within two years. Special emphasis is placed on
girls since their marginalization is greater.
--------- | TEACHER
TRAINING CENTER
This program was established with the technical support of
the University of Tribhunvan (Kathmandu), which lent part of
its installations for its development, as well as of other universities
in Spain. It was the first attempt in Nepal to train kindergarten
and primary school teachers.
This program has been really successful and because of the
great demand for new teachers, we are working on a new phase
of the project, thanks to the agreement between the University
of Biranthnagan (through the Wopa College engineers of Baktapur),
Nepal and the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
As soon as it finishes we will have 50 new professionals able
to work both in our schools and in the other schools of the
country.
Furthermore, we also want to start a new program for Professional
Education which is going to include educational branches related
to the needs of the country such as carpentry, electronics,
mechanics and several technical engineering disciplines.
--------- | HOSTEL
CENTER
This center takes in children who are at risk due to, for example,
child exploitation, sexual abuse and physical and psychic disabilities.
Professionals are available 24 hours a day to attend to each
of their needs and to stimulate their improvement both at the
educational and physical levels.
--------- | JHAPA
[Translation pending]
Tomorrow).
pequeñas empresas, 120 niños y niñas, a
